The KRM staff can only provide the essentials, while our dedicated volunteers further ease the difficult transition to a new culture and life-style. What are the requirements to become a volunteer?

Our ideal volunteer possesses patience, cultural sensitivity, flexibility, and a sense of humor. Previous experience is not required; we provide any needed training. Availability on week-days is important as our greatest needs are during office hours.

How much time would I commit to volunteering?

Volunteer positions generally fall into two categories: long-term and occasional, or on-call. Long-term positions require weekly schedules and an initial commitment of three months is preferred. This provides consistency for both staff and clients. On-call commitments are best for volunteers with limited availability.
